October is apparently when everything is dropping. "Columbidae" is up, marking my second appearance at Flash Fiction Online under as many different editors. ;-)
Go read the story that has Anna Yeatts writing in capslock. I'll guarantee that it's one of the best stories about crazy naked human pigeons you will read for the first time this week.

"And All the Tribes of the Earth Shall Mourn" at Mythic Delirium
Mythic Delirium returns with, among many others, my story "And All the Tribes of the Earth Shall Mourn," in which a man fails to understand other people's religious ecstasy, and also McDonald's.

UFO 3 Out Now!
The grand and hopefully long-standing traditional annual UFO anthology is out early! My story, "Why I Bought Satan Two Cokes on the Day I Graduated High School," can be read there, along with a lot of other very funny stories by people more famous and better at writing than I am.
You can buy it at Amazon or (eventually, I presume) from the UFO Publishing page.

"Roundabout" at IGMS
My borderline-sociopath-versus-evil-elder-god-of-the-U.S.-highway-system story is up at Intergalactic Medicine Show, right here. And no more paywall over yonder, either!

"No More Teachers, No More Books" at Toasted Cake
My horror/comedy flash fiction, "No More Teachers, No More Books" is live at Toasted Cake to celebrate the end of the school year.
Don't be a victim of brain drain, kids.
Also, listen to Toasted Cake in general because it has short and weird, which you clearly already like or you wouldn't be here, and it also has Tina Connolly's mellifluous tones and self-evidently high editorial standards. ;-)

"Nemesis" at Escape Pod
I have been very bad this week, for which I apologize. To make up for it, how do you feel about a full-length audio and text superhero story? Featuring Atom Boy, high school, and the healing power of attention deficit disorder, it's Nemesis over at Escape Pod.
(Yes, I'm the Assistant Editor there now. I wasn't when I submitted the story, I swear.)

"Forks and Skewers" at The Way of the Buffalo
An old flash piece of mine, "Forks and Skewers," is currently up at The Way of the Buffalo podcast, hosted by the inimitable Hugh O'Donnell. This one I wrote all the way back in college, where it met with what I thought was rather embarrassing enthusiasm from the other students, to which my comment was, "Well, it's just a gimmick story."
And it is, but I still think it's cute. Go have a listen!

Lightblind at Toasted Cake
Hey, everyone!
My flash fiction piece, Lightblind (originally published in the Sparks anthology) is currently available in audio from Tina Connolly, over at Toasted Cake. Her podcast does flash fiction audio on a regular basis from a bunch of authors who are better than I am, but this way you can pretend you're there for me. :-)

"In Spite of Himself" at Journey Into...
So a while back, Marshal Latham (who does a lot of volunteer work around the Escape Artists podcasts and the Drabblecast, and whom I thus encounter on a daily basis) decided to start up his own podcast, featuring a mix of old radio serials and new flash fiction. He asked me for what I had lying around, and I sent him some flash bits. He decided to run "In Spite of Himself," which was a humorous superhero bit I originally tossed up here on Mirrorshards.
If you remember it fondly, go hear it reimagined in full sensory surround sound! (Not really.) If you don't remember it, I don't blame you. Go listen to Marshal's podcast! He's got the Shadow, he's got Ray Bradbury, he's got Dave Thompson, inimitable editor of Podcastle with the friendliest NPR-esque voice I know. It's good times.
